Perth Airport DFO

Keep your eye out for our grasstrees installed at the Perth Airport DFO.
We are extremely proud to be part of this landscape, stores open October 3rd, 2018.

Grasstrees Australia was honoured to be awarded Silver Exhibitor 2018 for our display at the Perth Garden Festival. Many thanks to the organisers and all who attended for such a successful weekend.

Perth Airport International Terminal Landscape

Recent completion of the landscape at the newly renovated Perth Airport International Terminal highlights WA Xanthorrhoea Preissii as the feature plant species.

These particular grasstree specimens were extracted many months previously from Perth Airport sites , nursery stabilised at Grasstrees Australia facility for their return to Perth Airport as the focal point in this landscape project.

A great win for our environment.

National Finalists 2014 Nursery & Garden Industry Awards

With pride Grasstrees Australia were announced ‘NATIONAL FINALISTS’ in the 2014 Nursery & Garden Industry Awards, Best Specialty Garden Centre category.

To have Grasstrees Australia’s commitment in the preservation of WA Native plants recognised on this level is an honour.  To then be judged across a national forum, with winners announced at a Nursery & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) function held in Darling Harbour Sydney recently, certainly raises the profile of our very special WA Native flora, of course in particular Grasstrees (Xanthorrhoea Preissii) and Zamia palms (Macrozamia Riedlei).

Gateway WA Perth Airport and Freight Access Project

Grasstrees Australia are proud to be involved with the Gateway WA Perth Airport and Freight Access project, Perth’s biggest ever infrastructure project.

Along with the team at Gateway WA, Grasstrees Australia staff is passionate with environmental care.  By professionally removing grasstrees (Xanthorrhoea Preissii) and Macrozamia Riedlei Palms within the clearing zones, under license from the DPAW (Department of Parks and Wildlife) these WA Native plants are rescued from destruction.  Following nursery stabilisation at our facility in Wattle Grove, rescued plants will be returned to the Gateway WA project in approx. mid 2015 as a major attraction in landscape design at that time.

We are mutually striving to minimise any adverse environmental impact and are striving to sustain our native WA flora treasures.

Joondalup Health Campus Redevelopment

May 2013 saw our final installation of nursery held grasstrees and macrozamia palms at the Joondalup Health Campus.

The project began in February 2009, with an excess of 350 Xanthorrhoea Preissii and Macrozamia Riedlei extracted from the developing site,  that has today become Joondalup Health Campus.

As each phase progressed, plants were removed from their natural habitat at this site, returned to GTA nursery facility for stabilisation and a nursery hold period.  They were then returned upon completion of each stage, into the now well developing landscape at the hospital.

John Holland’s Joondalup Health Campus Redevelopment team, with whom we worked closely on throughout this project, are congratulated and sincerely thanked by all of us here at Grasstrees Australia.  The professional, expert and efficient work ethics of this team is acknowledged by us.  It is our pleasure to have been associated with this project.

A great environmental example.

CM3 Contractor Safety Management

Grasstrees Australia has recently achieved accreditation in Safety Management via the CM3 program.

Cm3 Contractor Safety Management is provided by Noel Arnold & Associates, one of Australia’s leading specialists in occupational health and safety risk management.

Cm3 addresses the need for both contractors and the organisations they conduct work for to demonstrate contractor health and safety management capabilities, along with providing assistance for organisations to better manage their contractors around health and safety requirements.

With health and safety being paramount at Grasstrees Australia, our company will now undergo an annual audit to ensure standards are maintained.  Our Pre-Qualification Certificate is available upon request.

2012 Western Australian Environmental Awards

It was with great honour and excitement that Grasstrees Australia was announced as a finalist in the category ‘Small Business Leading By Example’ at the WA Environmental Awards presentation evening on Friday 9th November 2012.

The commitment, passion and drive displayed by our dedicated team in their environmental endeavours were acknowledged.  Grasstrees Australia is passionately committed to the conservation of WA Native flora, in particular Xanthorrhoea species.   We congratulate all 41 finalists across all 11 categories and special congratulations to the winners.

Beeliar Revegetation Site

As part of our revegetation program, grasstrees were removed from a site in Beeliar back in May 2011, to allow access for the development of a pipeline.  In a project involving Grasstrees Australia, Emerge Associates, and the Water Corporation, this site has since been revegetated.  After reinstalling the Grasstrees, and an ongoing care, maintenance and watering program conducted by Grasstrees Australia over the establishment period, our involvement in this very successful program has now been completed.
